HEALTHIER PORTIONS FOR A HEALTHIER DIET
There is increasing agreement that inappropriate portions of foods and beverages lead to expanding waistlines and create nutrition imbalances. Studies suggest that portion intervention strategies have real potential to make a positive impact. A group of 30 public health experts, policymakers, scientists and members of the European Parliament came together on March 16, 2016 to engage in a dialogue about strategies to encourage healthier portion consumption. The Healthier Portions for a Healthier Diet Stakeholder Convening was organized by Nestlé and hosted by Anna Maria Corazza Bildt, First Vice-chair of the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, MEP.
